Postpartum And Newborn

Congratulations, you survived pregnancy and birth with POTS! And now you and your little bundle of joy are home. You are likely sleep deprived, your body has just gone through something major, and your estrogen and progesterone hormone levels are falling (Kanjwal et al., 2009).

The postpartum period is a difficult time for any woman, now throw in POTS and you’ve got an extra special complication. Some women report improvement of POTS symptoms after delivery, while others report worsening of POTS symptoms (Morgan, et al., 2022).  But each person and pregnancy is unique and you likely wont know how your POTS will react until you are in the thick of it with your newborn.
